Carl “Carlito” Hernandez

Chief Officer of Wishes and Lifestyle (OWL); Co-Founder; President

As Chief Officer of Wishes and Lifestyle (OWL), Carl “Carlito” Hernandez brings hands-on technical mastery and an infectious enthusiasm to Vista Supports. A RESNA-certified Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) and Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS), Carl is the person who makes technology actually work in the real world. Carl built the first remote support center for IDD services in the DMV region and trained its first remote support team. When a sensor needs configuring, an integration needs troubleshooting, or an engineer needs to hear what’s actually happening on the ground, Carl is on the call. He installs and configures every Vista Link and Xandar Kardian deployment, ensuring that what works in theory works in practice. His background as a natural technology tinkerer means he can make any system sing. But Carl’s real gift is translation. He teaches staff who are intimidated by technology how to use it confidently. He shows remote support teams not just what they’re seeing on screens, but how to affect change for the person they’re supporting. Known for making technology fun and relatable, Carl embodies the Fritos and Eggs philosophy: make something great out of whatever talent you have. He leads the Remote Support Coaches and Technology Navigators team, ensuring personalized technology plans move from paper to reality.
